In Berlin, Germany, there is a travel agency named China by Bike. The principal, Volker, likes Chinese culture very much. His agency has many times organized German young people to travel by bike in Yunnan, Guizhou etc. In August 2006, he started a journey in Xinjiang by bike alone. His route is Dunhuang-Hami-Urumchi-Kashi.

The documentary wholly records the wonderful journey of the German young man across Xinjiang; it also shows the history and culture and folk customs of different areas on the old Silk Road, the lifestyles of common people of various ethnic groups in Xinjiang, as well as a real charming Xinjiang to the European viewers in a vivid way.

The documentary will be finished in early 2007 and be broadcast on Germany's ZDF TV station and France ARTE TV station in the spring.
